It's a girl!!!

Mira-Mira-on-the-wall, who is the prettiest of them all?  Mira was born on June 1, 2009 at 14:59PM in the confines of the LPCH hospital in Stanford, CA.  She weighed in at a svelte 6lbs 5oz and measured 18 in. The labor and birth was brisk, to everyone's surprise. Mira clearly wanted to see for herself what the hype was all about.  Her first impression...

(Warning!!!! Explicit dialogue with Dr. Wachtel concerning the placenta in the background.)

Clearly, unimpressed with the world, this blog documents Mira's journey to make the world a better place!!!!

Let's not forget about Maikke, she is doing well, a little tired after the labor, in a little pain, but otherwise radiant from motherhood. First moments with little miss Mira and Mum.

Following birth the baby was subjected to mild probing, shots, a bath and medium roasting under a heat lamp to equilibrate her tiny system in the nursery, all under the keen supervision of Papa. We then were reunited with Mum in the maternity ward for the first family picture.

We can only interpret this as an innate gesture to let the world know that "I have arrived and everything is going to be fine".

We spent 48 hours in the hospital following the delivery to assess Mira's health, she passed with flying colors and anxiously awaited our discharge. We are now safely home and are adjusting to our new exciting life as parents.
